I'd like to spend a few minutes just talking about this wee thing that has literally changed my cooking life. Before this, I spent hours on chopping and dicing and smashing things into fine pastes and relied solely on my hand blender for most things. The hand blender in question has decided to retire, after 3 years of fabulous service. So I started looking at food processors because 1) I figured that it was the only way to achieve Jamie Oliver's 30 minute meals in *actual* 30 minutes, 2) well, I needed to make hummus, which is one of my most favourite things to eat ever.
Now, I don't know much about swanky kitchen appliances for many reasons, the main ones being that I move a lot and don't have storage room! That's why when I saw this Cuisinart food processor I was so quick to order it. It has two functions: chop and grind. These are perfect for making dips, sauces, dressings, dough, and so many others in small batches. So far I've chopped vegetables, made pesto, pureéd beetroot, hummus, pizza dough, and tortilla dough using just the one machine. I genuinely love this thing so much as it's cut down my cooking time, and it's also allowed me to try making new things.
A food processor, not necessarily this one, is something that I would now consider a must-have in an amateur cook's kitchen, judging by what you can achieve with it!
For a small accessory costing only £40, I think I've already got my money's worth! :-)
